Twin Peaks - Black lodge

I have progressed a little bit with this painting. Lots of thing to be done, but here I am now

Plywood is hard to paint on. But I'll paint it over and over again until it looks good. The fingers are crap, I know. Next I'll work on with the curtains and whole background. Laura is the last.

The shadows of the curtains are black, in case you wondered why there's black stripes on the curtains. My friend (this painting is a present for him) made a twin peaks painting where the shadows of the curtains were black. It looked great! So I'm trying the same here, let's see if it works..

Emi

I know this girl Emi and I love her poems. You can read them from her blog. Her poems are in finnish, so if you don't know finnish, just look her pictures, she is very pretty!

Anyway, I was reading her poems one day and I drew this:

Oh dear

I'm sorry that I've been silent, but I'm in big hurry now! Our animals have giardia (we have three cats and two dogs..) and christmas is coming!

But soon you'll see what I've done to the Twin Peaks painting! And next Tuesday I'm going to see Fiona Timantti and take a photo of her and the Mouse Fatale painting. I already gave it to her and she was very happy about it. Another rock off my chest..

Black Lodge - The beginning

I finally started. This is quite a big work, at least for me, so it'll take some time to get it done. Well, my deadline is four weeks on this, so I have to get it done quite soon.

Listening to Twin Peaks soundtrack (movie and tv-series) helps to keep the inspiration up and going. It's the best inspirational music! Little bit of scary, but lovely at the same time, incredible. I should listen it more often, then I'd never lose my inspiration. My favorite songs are into the night and the voice of love.

I'm almost out of black and red is gone. I can get more on friday, because tomorrow is Finland's independence day and all the shops are closed. I'll probably draw with pencil tomorrow, maybe use some ink.
I'm making a family tree-painting for my mother-in-laws mother, she really likes that kind of stuff so..

I'm also sick and the day after tomorrow is my birthday! Now I'll drink tea and hope that I will survive this. Wish me luck!

Bride of Frankenstein

I made this card to soon-to-be-a-friend (I hope). She likes bride of Frankenstein, so I drew this. Made with ink. Hope that she'll like it...

I'm so sorry that the quality of these pictures is what it is. My camera is dead, but I'll fix it soon! Our scanner is an asshole and won't work on this laptop. I'm too lazy to use our other computer... Sorry!

Twin Peaks

First of all the greatest TV series ever made and the movie is also great.

I'm now very inspired by Twin Peaks. I'm going to paint Laura Palmer in the Black Lodge, when she's dead and happy about the fact that she is free of suffering and fear. It's probably the best scene in Fire walk with me. I'm touched by it every single time.

This painting will be a birthday present for my friend (he's b-day is in first week of January), so I'll post here pictures of different phases, so you'll see the difference. This'll be easier now, because I'm not in a (big) hurry, so I wont get the painting done in two days.
That's why I like acrylics, they dry quickly. I'm too hasty for oil colours. With acrylics I can make two paintings in a day.

Acrylics

Very inspired

Today is sad and angry music-day. That's because I feel angry and sad at the same time. Duh! I'm so genious aren't I?
 This is rare, because these feelings usually come separate. But not today.
When I feel like this, I get this crazy inspiration. This happens everytime, even today.
I've been sturggling at work all day! I just want to draw and paint these great images that are in my head. I don't know what's this big hats-thing, but I like it. You will see them a lot in my works.
Here's some shit I did in five minutes when I had a break.

Cruella done!

I like this painting a lot. It's so simple.
I've always liked Cruella, though I didn't share her mind about furs and animals. She had this great way to talk to people. Arrogant, diva, longing for beauty.
Her life is a sad story when you think of it. Once she was beautiful and knew fashion. That's what I wanted to paint and did. I decided that Cruella is twenty five years old in this painting.

This is my newest. The special thing about it is that it came entirely from my head. Almost everything that I've recently done has had a model. You propably have noticed that she is Cruella DeVil! This is my take of her when she was twenty or something like that, before she took all those plastic surgerys and stuff. Yeah, in my point of view she had like a dozen plastic surgerys on the way. It's not ready yet!

 My friend showed me Milton Caniff's works and I fell in love with them.
So I wanted to make a painting of the picture below. I changed her face. It felt like a good idea to make her more Dita Von Teese like.

EDIT: Okay, I made some changes immediately, because her shoulders looked ridiculous.

Birthday cards

Christmas is coming and also many many birthdays (including mine). November and december are busy times, especially, when you're drawing all the cards. I never buy cards for anyone.
 I have always made the cards myself, it is stupid to buy one, when you can make it yourself.

It really doesn't look like her, but hey, it is gorgeus!

My first graphic novel ever

And this doesn't count any doodle-comics that I've done. This is for real and I'm nervous.

I got this idea yesterday when I was driving. I was listening to Maj Karma's album, Sodankylä, and the second song of this very album, Pohjola, gave me one damn brilliant idea for my first graphic novel! I've been trying to think up a story worth drawing and finally I've made it! Now starts the hard part...

The protagonist of my story looks like Herra Ylppö, but I really don't believe that he is as evil as my character. Not even close. This guy is mentally ill in a very sick, twisted and evil way. He does some horrible things in my story. It will be very frustrating to draw it, but hey, I'm practicing a lot.

     I drew this girl and the only thing that I liked about her, was her legs.

One thing that I'm struggling with, is hands. I can't draw hands at all, as you can see.
